Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Geely Galaxy's new energy vehicle (NEV) models—the Galaxy A7 EM-i and Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i—have recently been spotted undergoing high-intensity dynamic testing at Germany's famed Nürburgring circuit, according to some media reports.

This development reflects Geely's growing presence on the international stage, underpinned by its expansive global R&D infrastructure. The company has established five major engineering hubs across the world, including facilities in Frankfurt, Gothenburg, and Coventry. Among them, Geely's European Testing Center in Frankfurt has become a cornerstone of its European innovation efforts. The center brings together a team of 150 top-tier engineers from 23 countries, each with over a decade of experience across various automotive disciplines.

Just over 100 kilometers from Frankfurt, the Nürburgring holds iconic status in the automotive world. With a course stretching 20.832 kilometers and featuring as many as 177 corners and an elevation change of up to 300 meters, the track is renowned for its punishing layout. It combines fast straights with technical sections, challenging a vehicle's powertrain, handling, braking, and suspension under extreme conditions.

Geely said it has utilized the Nürburgring as a key proving ground for global vehicle testing and dynamic calibration for many years. By subjecting its vehicles to such a demanding environment, the company can identify and address potential weaknesses early, ensuring its products deliver high levels of reliability and performance across diverse global driving conditions.

The company added that the recent sighting of the Galaxy A7 EM-i and Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i at the Nürburgring signals Geely's continued commitment to rigorous development standards in the new energy vehicle sector. These tests are part of its strategy to bring better-engineered, higher-performing products to markets worldwide.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
