SMM Flash News: GCC Initiates Anti-Dumping Investigation on Chinese, Malaysian Electric Accumulators, Imposes Tariffs of 25-70%

[SMM Flash News] It is reported that in mid-August 2024, the GCC Bureau of Technical Secretariat for Anti Injurious Practices in International Trade issued an announcement stating that, in response to applications submitted by three enterprises in the Middle East, it had initiated an anti-dumping investigation into electric accumulators used for starting piston engines originating in or imported from China or Malaysia. According to the latest news, the Middle East will impose different levels of tariffs on Chinese or Chinese-funded lead-acid battery enterprises involved in related issues, with tariffs of 25-40%, 50-65%, and 55-70% respectively. In addition, a tariff of 40-65% will be imposed on other cooperating Chinese enterprises.
