Spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce Answers Reporters' Questions on Adjusting the Catalogue of Technologies Prohibited or Restricted from Export by China

On July 15, a spokesperson from the Ministry of Commerce stated that the current adjustment to the Catalog removed three technical entries, added one, and revised one. The key changes include: the removal of one prohibited technical entry for traditional Chinese architectural technology and two restricted technical entries for architectural environmental control technology, creating favorable conditions for the global sharing of China's achievements in architectural technology; the addition of one restricted technical entry, namely, the preparation technology for battery cathode materials, encompassing three control points: the preparation technology for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) used in batteries, the preparation technology for lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP) used in batteries, and the preparation technology for phosphate cathode raw materials; and the revision of one restricted technical entry, namely, non-ferrous metal metallurgy technology, including five control points: the technology for extracting lithium from spodumene to produce lithium carbonate, the technology for extracting lithium from spodumene to produce lithium hydroxide, the preparation technology for lithium metal (alloy) and lithium materials, the technology for extracting lithium from brine, the preparation technology for lithium-containing purification solutions, and the revision of the control points for the technology for extracting gallium metal.
