Beijing (Gasgoo)–On July 14, SAIC Motor's MG brand announced that the all-new MG4 model has rolled off the production line, marking the debut model under MG's new-century new energy vehicle (NEV) strategy.
According to SAIC Motor, positioned as a cornerstone of MG's renewed push into the new energy vehicle (NEV) market, the all-new MG4 features the MG×OPPO smart connectivity system, a coupe-inspired exterior, a low-slung wide-body silhouette, and a vibrant color palette including purple and green. The battery electric hatchback is scheduled for market launch in August.
The MG×OPPO system, a highlight of the new MG4, is the result of deep integration between OPPO's ecosystem and SAIC Motor software arm Z-One's in-house-developed architecture. It introduces advanced features such as voice-assisted vehicle preparation, a unified interface across devices, and seamless app continuity, said SAIC Motor.
Developed by SAIC's global design team, the new MG4 draws design inspiration from the MG Cyberster electric roadster. It inherits distinctive design cues including a sculpted front fascia, standalone headlamps, and a central grille axis, giving it a high degree of visual recognition. Its long wheelbase paired with short overhangs—common in sports cars—further underscores its performance-oriented look.
Built on SAIC's MSP battery electric architecture, the all-new MG4 measures 4,395 mm in length, 1,842 mm in width, and 1,551 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. More product details will be revealed ahead of its official market launch in August.
