Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 10 local time, the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed officially opened at the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex, England. Chinese automaker BYD made a high-profile return to the event, showcasing vehicles from its premium brand DENZA and its new professional personalized sub-brand FANGCHENGBAO, according to a press release BYD issued on July 12 via its WeChat account.

Founded in 1993 by the 11th Duke of Richmond, the Goodwood Festival of Speed has grown into a premier global showcase for supercars and new automotive innovations. This year's edition coincides with the 75th anniversary of Formula 1 and adopts the theme "The Winning Formula – Champions and Challengers".

Participating for the second consecutive year, DENZA brand presented two models: the all-electric Z9GT coupe and the flagship D9 MPV. The Z9GT features the CTB dual-platform architecture supporting both pure-electric and PHEV-dedicated systems.

The DENZA Z9GT's standout maneuverability — demonstrated through a "compass turn" enabled by DENZA's revolutionary tri-motor coordination technology — earned widespread acclaim from spectators, according to the Chinese automaker.

Meanwhile, BYD noted that the DENZA Z9GT delivered a dynamic and elegant performance during the hill climb segment, underscoring its engineering sophistication under the proprietary system, which allows for millisecond-level coordination across three electric motors, blending exceptional performance with luxurious ride comfort. DENZA also introduced a Goodwood-exclusive silver decal design for the Z9GT, artfully merging Eastern aesthetics with British motorsport culture.

Making its Goodwood debut, FANGCHENGBAO's BAO 5 SUV showcased the capabilities of BYD's pioneering DMO platform — designed for both urban and off-road performance with an electric-first hybrid powertrain. The Chinese automaker said that the BAO 5 impressed audience with its robust power delivery, off-road prowess, and safety features during the hill climb challenge. Its DiSus-P intelligent hydraulic body control system, which adjusts ride height and damping in real time, further enhanced vehicle handling and ride comfort, offering both agility and cornering stability, according to BYD.

With the DENZA Z9GT, DENZA D9, and FANGCHENGBAO BAO 5 on display, BYD reaffirmed its commitment to innovation in electrification and intelligent mobility. The company's return to this iconic British automotive festival underscores the growing global influence of Chinese carmakers and their evolving role in shaping the future of the industry.
