Recently, the National Energy Administration officially issued the "Notice of the National Energy Administration on Enhancing the Stability of the Power System and Further Strengthening the Planning and Construction of the National Power Grid Backbone Network," which formally incorporates the 1000 kV UHV AC power transmission and transformation project from Ganjiang to Gannan into the national power development plan. This has milestone significance for Jiangxi in accelerating the construction of a new-type power system and a new energy system. The project is expected to construct a new 1000 kV substation in Gannan, installing two main transformers with a capacity of 3 million kVA each; it will also build two 1000 kV AC power transmission lines connecting Ganjiang and Gannan, with a total length of about 600 kilometers. The 1000 kV UHV project from Ganjiang to Gannan is the first engineering project to upgrade the "ri" shaped UHV AC loop network in the Central China region to a more robust and reliable "mu" shaped loop network structure. Its successful inclusion marks a crucial step in strengthening and expanding the UHV backbone grid in the Central China region during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
