YANGWANG, a premium vehicle brand under BYD, recently released official images of the interior for its full-size SUV, the YANGWANG U8L—an extended-length version of the YANGWANG U8.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)-YANGWANG, a premium vehicle brand under BYD, recently released official images of the interior for its full-size SUV, the YANGWANG U8L—an extended-length version of the YANGWANG U8. The new model features two interior color schemes, described by the company as "one dark, one light," offering contrasting yet refined tones to suit different aesthetic preferences.

The U8L's dashboard retains the wraparound layout seen in the standard U8, dominated by a trio of large, symmetrically arranged digital displays. Nearly all physical buttons have been eliminated, reinforcing the SUV's minimalist and high-tech approach.

Luxury details are evident throughout the cabin. Genuine leather covers a vast portion of the surfaces, while the steering wheel logo is accented with gold trim, underscoring the vehicle's premium positioning.

With a body length exceeding 5.3 meters and a wheelbase stretching beyond 3.1 meters, the U8L offers significantly more cabin space than the standard U8. The most notable benefit lies in the second row, where legroom has been noticeably enhanced to deliver a more spacious and comfortable ride.

The second-row features two large, independent seats equipped with individual screens, leg rests, and a dense array of controls—hinting at a full suite of comfort functions including heating, ventilation, massage, and even zero-gravity mode.

Other highlights include dual panoramic sunroofs, a ceiling-mounted large entertainment screen, and deep-tinted glass that likely supports variable transparency to enhance privacy. Foldable tray tables are mounted on the front seatbacks, and a compact refrigerator is integrated into the rear center armrest, elevating the SUV's rear-seat experience to business-class standards.

Mechanically, the U8L is expected to carry over the same e4 platform from the standard U8, enabling independent torque vectoring for all four wheels. Each motor can individually control its respective wheel, delivering a combined output of over 880 kW and peak torque exceeding 1,280 Nm—ensuring formidable power and precision handling.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
