Nvidia: Plans to Resume H20 Sales in China
Nvidia (NVDA.O) stated in a blog post that it plans to resume H20 sales in China after obtaining licensing assurances from the US government. The company's CEO, Jensen Huang, met with US President Trump last week and will attend the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing this week. Huang told Nvidia customers that the company is applying for new licenses to sell H20 in China, expects these licenses to be approved, and hopes to resume deliveries as soon as possible. The H20 is a low-power version of Nvidia's artificial intelligence chip designed specifically for China. It was created to comply with the US's earlier restrictions on AI hardware sales. However, the Trump administration expanded control measures in April to include H20-level chips. Huang had previously stated that Nvidia would lose billions of US dollars due to unsold H20 inventory.
