In June, raw coal, crude oil, and natural gas production in industries above designated size (hereinafter referred to as "above-designated-size industries") grew steadily, while power generation growth accelerated.
I. Production and Related Conditions of Raw Coal, Crude Oil, and Natural Gas
Raw coal production grew steadily. In June, the raw coal production of above-designated-size industries was 420 million mt, up 3.0% YoY, with the growth rate slowing down by 1.2 percentage points compared to May; the daily average production was 14.04 million mt.
From January to June, the raw coal production of above-designated-size industries was 2.4 billion mt, up 5.4% YoY.
Crude oil production grew steadily. In June, the crude oil production of above-designated-size industries was 18.2 million mt, up 1.4% YoY, with the growth rate slowing down by 0.4 percentage points compared to May; the daily average production was 607,000 mt.
From January to June, the crude oil production of above-designated-size industries was 108.48 million mt, up 1.3% YoY.
Crude oil processing turned from decline to growth. In June, above-designated-size industries processed 62.24 million mt of crude oil, up 8.5% YoY, compared to a decline of 1.8% in May; the daily average processing was 2.075 million mt.
From January to June, above-designated-size industries processed 361.61 million mt of crude oil, up 1.6% YoY.
Natural gas production grew steadily. In June, the natural gas production of above-designated-size industries was 21.2 billion m³, up 4.6% YoY, with the growth rate slowing down by 4.5 percentage points compared to May; the daily average production was 710 million m³.
From January to June, the natural gas production of above-designated-size industries was 130.8 billion m³, up 5.8% YoY.
II. Power Generation Conditions
The growth rate of power generation in above-designated-size industries accelerated. In June, the power generation of above-designated-size industries was 796.3 billion kWh, up 1.7% YoY, with the growth rate accelerating by 1.2 percentage points compared to May; the daily average power generation was 26.54 billion kWh. From January to June, the power generation of above-designated-size industries was 4,537.1 billion kWh, up 0.8% YoY. Excluding the impact of the number of days, the daily average power generation grew by 1.3% YoY.
By type, in June, the growth rates of thermal power and wind power in above-designated-size industries slowed down, the decline in hydropower narrowed, and the growth rates of nuclear power and solar power generation accelerated. Specifically, thermal power generation in above-designated-size industries grew by 1.1% YoY, with the growth rate slowing down by 0.1 percentage points compared to May; hydropower generation in above-designated-size industries declined by 4.0%, with the decline narrowing by 10.3 percentage points compared to May; nuclear power generation in above-designated-size industries grew by 10.3% YoY, with the growth rate accelerating by 3.6 percentage points compared to May; wind power generation in above-designated-size industries grew by 3.2% YoY, with the growth rate slowing down by 7.8 percentage points compared to May; solar power generation in above-designated-size industries grew by 18.3% YoY, with the growth rate accelerating by 11.0 percentage points compared to May.
