Recently, CATL and BHP, a leading global diversified resources company, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU). Both parties will leverage their respective strengths to collaborate in areas such as the electrification of mining equipment, the construction of fast charging infrastructure, energy storage, and battery recycling. They will also collaborate on product R&D, jointly researching and developing battery solutions suitable for heavy mining equipment and railway locomotives, along with implementing corresponding fast charging infrastructure. They will explore application scenarios for energy storage systems in BHP's global mines. In the future, both parties will also optimize the battery recycling process, promote the development of a circular economy, and establish a more sustainable value chain for the mining industry.
