According to media reports, electrification is penetrating deeply into multiple fields such as ships, aircraft, robots, and construction machinery, driving lithium batteries from single-point high growth to multi-point outbreaks. The high demands for energy density, safety, and lightweighting in emerging application scenarios are forcing rapid evolution in material systems and manufacturing technologies, with solid-state batteries becoming a key variable in reshaping the landscape.

According to media reports, electrification is penetrating deeply into multiple fields such as ships, aircraft, robots, and construction machinery, driving lithium batteries from single-point rapid growth to multi-point explosive growth. The high demands for energy density, safety, and lightweighting in emerging application scenarios are forcing rapid evolution in material systems and manufacturing technologies, with solid-state batteries emerging as a key variable in reshaping the industry landscape.

As market demand for high-performance batteries continues to increase, solid-state batteries, as a highly promising next-generation battery technology, are attracting a large number of "players" to enter the market, accelerating the industrialisation process. To seize the next-generation technology opportunities, many overseas battery companies have also begun to deploy R&D and applications for solid-state batteries. In May, BMW Group announced the official road test launch of the world's first test vehicle equipped with an all-solid-state battery in Munich, marking a new stage in BMW Group's cooperation with solid-state battery technology companies. Many leading companies in the domestic industry chain are accelerating the expansion of their battery business coverage and actively conducting R&D layouts for solid-state batteries to better grasp market opportunities brought by emerging application scenarios. Judging from the progress disclosed by various companies, although the current focus of solid-state battery applications remains on the automotive sector, their application scope is gradually expanding into emerging fields such as the low-altitude economy, humanoid robots, and electric two-wheelers, demonstrating diversified market potential. EVTank predicts that all-solid-state batteries will achieve small-scale mass production in 2027 and large-scale shipments by 2030. It is expected that by 2030, global solid-state battery shipments will reach 614.1 GWh, with the proportion of all-solid-state batteries approaching 30%.

According to the theme library of Cailian Press, among the relevant publicly listed firms are:

LyricIn the field of solid-state batteries, the company has overcome the R&D challenges of dry electrode core equipment, achieved independent development of full-process equipment, and possesses stable key process technologies such as cathode dry coating, pressing transfer printing, pole piece glue frame forming, and high-voltage formation and capacity.

Narada PowerThe recently launched 783AH ultra-large-capacity energy storage solid-state battery has a cycle life of no less than 10,000 times, a single-cell energy exceeding 2.5 kWh, an energy efficiency exceeding 95%, a volumetric energy density greater than 430 Wh/L, and is suitable for 2-8h energy storage application scenarios.

[Lithium Battery: Samsung SDI Plans Battery Lines For Solid-State, LFP, Sodium]
On July 3, news emerged that Samsung SDI plans to invest a total of 25 trillion Korean Won by 2040 to establish a presence in next-generation battery technologies. Among this, 16 trillion Korean Won (approximately 70.88 billion yuan) will be allocated to build production lines for all-solid-state batteries, as well as lithium iron phosphate batteries for energy storage and sodium batteries, in Ulsan, South Korea. Another 9 trillion Korean Won will be invested in the Cheonan factory, transforming it into a research, development, and manufacturing center for next-generation batteries. Samsung SDI aims to achieve the commercialization of solid-state batteries in South Korea by 2027. Samsung SDI has also finalized plans to establish a sodium-ion battery production line in Ulsan, a project previously in the feasibility assessment stage for mass production.
