On July 10, Brazilian metal producers expressed concern that the tariff conflict between the US and Brazil might impact the mining, steel, and aluminum industries. Brazil is the second-largest supplier of steel imports to the US. In 2024, the value of steel products (including pig iron) exported by Brazil to the US reached $5.72 billion. Brazil is a major importer of US coal, with the US supplying 45.5% of Brazil's total coal imports in Q1. According to Ibram data, the mineral products exported by Brazil to the US in Q1 included iron ore, bauxite, niobium, gold, kaolinite, as well as decorative and other types of ores.
