Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 10, NIO's sub-brand ONVO officially opened pre-sales for its flagship SUV, the ONVO L90. The vehicle is offered at a starting price of 279,900 yuan for outright purchase, or from 193,900 yuan with a battery subscription plan. Available in five exterior colors and three interior themes, the model is now on display at all ONVO retail locations nationwide.
The L90 sports ONVO's signature "WAY UP" design philosophy, which conveys a sense of optimistic progression. Its front end features intelligent pixel headlights dubbed "Starlight Spark," capable of animated light signaling, while the rear LED cluster incorporates 422 Super Red 630nm LEDs for enhanced visibility and safety during family travel.
A standout feature is the 240-liter front trunk, equipped with ONVO's exclusive intelligent access system. This allows users to open the frunk with two taps on the hood within a set range. It also supports adjustable opening height and can be controlled via app, physical key, voice command, or the in-car display. Designed with versatility in mind, the front trunk accommodates organized storage for everything from groceries to outdoor gear. It features a waterproof, washable base with built-in drainage, and a suite of optional accessories including sofa kits and multi-function nets is available through the brand’s online store.
Measuring 5,145mm in length, 1,998mm in width, and up to 1,786mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,110mm, the L90 slots into the same full-size SUV category as the Li L9 and the DENZA N9. Its short front overhang, long wheelbase, and level roofline give the vehicle a strong, imposing presence. The retractable powered side steps—dubbed "Step Up Wings"—span nearly 2.2 meters and are capable of supporting up to 300kg. Designed for all terrains, they offer a step height optimized for easy access, especially for children and elderly passengers.
The ONVO L90 rides on 20- or 21-inch wheels with staggered tire widths (255mm front, 275mm rear) and features an air suspension system typically reserved for premium German brands, enhancing comfort and road adaptability. Despite its size, the SUV achieves an impressive drag coefficient of just 0.25Cd and a curb weight ranging from 2,250kg to 2,385kg.
Performance-wise, the L90 is powered by a highly integrated electric motor producing 340kW in the rear-wheel-drive variant. The all-wheel-drive version delivers 440kW, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds, while the single-motor version achieves it in 5.9 seconds, ensuring a dynamic driving experience.
Interior space is one of the L90's biggest strengths. It boasts a longitudinal space efficiency of 81.5% and vertical efficiency of 85.9%, with total usable cabin length reaching 4,195mm. Legroom exceeds 1 meter in all three rows, while headroom measures 1,062mm, 1,076mm, and 962mm in the first, second, and third rows, respectively.
The second-row aisle width reaches up to 220mm, and a 3.13m² flat floor simplifies access to the third row.
The third row offers a maximum seatback recline of 38 degrees, a cushion height of 330mm, and 92mm of footwell depth—ensuring comfort even for passengers up to 185cm tall, making the L90 a practical and luxurious option for families needing genuine three-row usability.
