Lithium Harvest, a subsidiary of the US-based Sustainable Projects Group, plans to construct a 9,000 mt per annum lithium carbonate production facility in Alberta, Canada, and has signed a letter of intent for cooperation. The project will adopt Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology, which significantly reduces water consumption compared to traditional processes. It will produce lithium chemicals by treating geothermal brine and is expected to commence operations in H2 2026, which will more than double Canada's existing lithium capacity.
