The cobalt powder market saw weak transactions, with alloy demand yet to be released

This week, the market quotes for cobalt powder remained stable, with sluggish transactions and a wait-and-see attitude among downstream buyers. During the previous two price increases, downstream buyers made purchases and some replenished their stocks, but currently, purchase willingness is low. On the cost side of cemented carbide, the price of tungsten carbide exceeded RMB 370,000, accounting for 90% of the cost, while cobalt powder accounted for 10%. On the recycling side, the recycling volume of cobalt powder was low, with a focus on collecting new raw materials containing tungsten and cobalt. Although the clean composition of these materials could reduce costs, the rising price of tungsten has narrowed the price spread between recycled and primary materials. Alloy demand has not yet been fully released, but there may be an increase this year.
