US Bloomberg reported on Wednesday (July 9) that Tether Holdings SA, the issuer of the world's largest stablecoin, has its own vault in Switzerland, storing gold worth $8 billion, and is eyeing an expansion of its gold reserves. The Salvador-based cryptocurrency company said it currently holds nearly 80 mt of gold. Most of it is directly held by Tether, making it one of the world's largest gold holders outside of banks and countries.
