Zheng Shanjie, Director of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), stated at the first press conference on "High-Quality Completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan" held by the State Council Information Office on July 9 that China is firmly committed to fulfilling its "dual carbon" commitments. Over the past four years, energy consumption per unit of GDP has decreased by a cumulative 11.6%, equivalent to a reduction of 1.1 billion mt of carbon dioxide emissions, approaching 50% of the EU's total carbon emissions in 2024. China's actions fully demonstrate its responsibility as a major country.
