Under the agreement, HERE will supply FIREFLY with high-quality map data and location-based services to enhance the brand's electric vehicles and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 8, 2025, HERE Technologies ("HERE"), a global leader in location data and technology, announced a strategic partnership with FIREFLY, the fresh electric vehicle (EV) brand launched by NIO Inc. Under the agreement, HERE will supply FIREFLY with high-quality map data and location-based services to enhance the brand's electric vehicles and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), with the goal of boosting safety, energy efficiency, and the overall driving experience.

Positioned as a smart, connected, and safety-focused brand targeting urban mobility, FIREFLY aims to bring premium EV technologies to a broader audience. Through this collaboration, FIREFLY will leverage HERE's extensive global map data to power connected navigation and ADAS features. Crucially, FIREFLY will also incorporate HERE's real-time speed limit data to support Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA), ensuring compliance with European regulatory standards.

The partnership extends further through HERE's collaboration with Telenav, enabling FIREFLY vehicles to integrate real-time traffic updates and location services tailored for EVs—enhancing both digital cockpit functionality and navigation experiences.

NIO continues to accelerate its global expansion. In the first quarter of 2025, the company delivered 42,094 vehicles worldwide, marking a 40.1% year-over-year leap.

Deon Newman, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Asia Pacific at HERE Technologies, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership: "We are proud to support NIO as it scales its ecosystem through the FIREFLY brand. As Chinese EV makers advance their global footprint, HERE remains committed to delivering AI-powered location intelligence solutions and setting the standard for automotive-grade real-time maps. This collaboration with NIO represents a model of how we can empower Chinese automakers to succeed abroad and deliver outstanding driving experiences."

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
