Aluminium processing plants were among the key projects approved in the first half of 2025—part of 373 new ventures attracting US $5.8 billion in fixed-asset investment—highlighting the metal’s pivotal role in Cambodia’s industrial and green-energy ambitions. In 2023, Cambodia exported US $269 million in aluminium articles—its 17th largest export—with Thailand (US $198 million), China (US $46.4 million) and South Korea (US $11.4 million) as principal markets, and imported US $640 million—its 11th largest import—primarily from China (US $329 million), Vietnam (US $110 million) and Thailand (US $81.1 million).
