Mkango Resources announced the first commercial production of secondary rare earth alloys at its new facility in Birmingham. The new facility has successfully produced secondary NdFeB alloy powder using a hydrogen treatment process for magnet scrap developed by the University of Birmingham. The company plans to achieve the first sales of 0.5 mt of secondary alloy per month in the UK by the end of July, and aims to increase capacity to at least 2 mt per month by the end of 2025. By 2026, annual capacity is expected to reach 100 to 350 mt, and the company is evaluating further expansion plans.
