[CATL's collaborative project with Indonesia officially commences, with total future investment approaching US$6 billion] According to CATL, a groundbreaking ceremony was held in Indonesia for the nickel resource and battery industry chain project jointly invested in and constructed by a consortium comprising CATL's subsidiary Contemporary Brunp Resources (CBL), Indonesia's state-owned mining company ANTAM, and Indonesia's battery company IBC. The total future investment for the project is approaching US$6 billion, with a planned annual battery production capacity capable of supporting 200,000-300,000 EVs, and will further expand into the ESS sector. Upon full operation, it is expected to produce 142,000 mt of nickel annually, 30,000 mt of cathode materials, and have the capacity to process approximately 20,000 mt of spent batteries.
