Bank Mandiri and Ceria Corp Strengthen Nickel Processing Collaboration with Low-Carbon Ferronickel Export

Published: Jul 7, 2025 16:17
Bank Mandiri and Ceria Nugraha Indotama (Ceria Corp) have strengthened their collaboration in downstream nickel processing through the inaugural export of Low-Carbon Ferronickel (FeNi) from the Merah Putih smelter in Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi. The symbolic first shipment consisted of 10 out of 65 containers destined for Asian markets. The smelter, part of Indonesia’s National Strategic Project (PSN) and National Vital Object (Obvitnas), utilizes a Rectangular Rotary Kiln Electric Furnace (RKEF) Line I and produces 22% FeNi with an annual capacity of 63,200 tons (13,900 tons of nickel metal). The product meets sustainability standards, backed by a Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) from PLN, as the entire production chain runs on clean energy. This milestone highlights the synergy between banking and industry in advancing Indonesia’s downstreaming and energy transition goals.
