CATL and Geely Automobile recently signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement aimed at deepening their partnership in electrification.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- CATL and Geely Automobile recently signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement aimed at deepening their partnership in electrification, according to a press release CATL issued on July 4 via its WeChat account.

Building on over a decade of collaboration, the two sides will strengthen ties across key areas such as battery technology integration, platform synergy, and supply chain development to foster a more efficient and resilient cooperation framework.

Since establishing their partnership in 2013, CATL has played a pivotal role in supporting Geely's push into the new energy vehicle (NEV) segment. From providing cost-effective cell solutions for the GEOME lineup, to enabling the platform-based technological upgrade of the Galaxy brand, and launching breakthrough products such as the Qilin Battery on the Zeekr 001 and the Freevoy Super Hybrid battery on the Lynk & Co 900, CATL has consistently delivered high-quality, reliable battery technologies that help Geely maintain strong competitiveness across both mainstream and premium markets.

CATL said, looking ahead, it would continue to leverage its strengths in innovation to jointly advance NEV technology and product development with Geely. The partnership aims to deliver superior user experiences while contributing to the broader goal of high-quality growth in the NEV industry.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
