【SMM Analysis】Second-Life Battery Market Analysis and Trends (2025.6.30-2025.7.4)

Published: Jul 4, 2025 18:00
From the overall data analysis, at the end of June, the rigid demand in the energy storage sector remained stable, supported by domestic and overseas demand due to mid-year activities and various policies. The automobile sales boom from earlier auto shows in June has since subsided. The new energy vehicle penetration rate has stabilized, but the consumer market is lackluster. While terminal demand is expected to increase somewhat, the growth is likely to be limited. In terms of market transactions, activity remained low through the end of June. Some second-life battery manufacturers maintained minimal inventory, adhering to a just-in-time procurement strategy. Looking ahead to July, after the mid-year period, demand for both automotive and energy storage markets is expected to decline further.

Baota Mountain Converter Station's AC System Energized, Marking Key Milestone in UHV Project
On February 5, the AC system of the Baota Mountain Converter Station, the sending - end station of the ±800 kV North Shaanxi - Anhui UHV DC power transmission project, was successfully energized for the first time. This marks that the AC system of the converter station has entered the startup commissioning stage, and the entire AC system of the project is expected to be put into operation before the Spring Festival. It is reported that the rated voltage of the North Shaanxi - Anhui UHV project is ±800 kV, with a rated capacity of 8 million kilowatts, and a dynamic investment of 20.5 billion yuan. The project starts from the Baota Mountain Converter Station in Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province, and ends at the Hezhou Converter Station in Hefei City, Anhui Province. It passes through three provi

World's First Multi-Source DC Project in Jiangsu Completes Phase II, Boosts Cross-River Power Transmission
On February 12, the second - phase project of the ±200 kV DC power transmission project from Yangzhou to Zhenjiang in Jiangsu, which is the world's first multi - source commutated DC power transmission project and China's first AC - DC hybrid cross - river project, was completed and put into operation. The project's transmission line is about 228 kilometers long, with a transmission capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts. It passes through three cities (Huai'an, Yangzhou, and Zhenjiang) and seven counties. Among them, a 47 - kilometer new - built DC transmission line is erected on the same tower as the 500 kV AC line, and two new converter stations are built. Without adding a new cross - Yangtze - River power transmission channel, the original cross - river power transmission capacity has been
