On July 3, PowerChina announced that its subsidiary, China International Water & Electric Corp., had signed a contract with Guinea's Kebohuahxing Mining Co., Ltd. and Huaxing Gaoke (Beijing) Business Development Co., Ltd. for the mining and transportation project in the TELIMELEMADINADIAN area of the KEBO bauxite mine in Guinea. The contract value was approximately RMB 5.063 billion. The project is located in the MADINADIAN area of Telimele Province, Kindia Region, Guinea. The main work involves exploration, overburden stripping, waste ore excavation, mining and stripping, and transportation of bauxite within a 204.37-square-kilometer mining area. The estimated mining volume is 28 million mt, and the total length of land transportation is approximately 197 kilometers. The total project duration is approximately 72 months, with no warranty period.
