According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), on July 3, Li Lecheng, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Minister of the MIIT, chaired the 15th Manufacturing Enterprise Symposium. The symposium aimed to thoroughly study and implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping, implement the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, focus on accelerating the high-quality development of the PV industry, and listen to the situation briefings, opinions, and suggestions from enterprises and industry associations in the PV sector.

At the symposium, leaders from 14 PV industry enterprises and the PV Industry Association made exchange speeches, focusing on enterprise production and operation, technological innovation, market competition, and industry ecosystem construction. They introduced the basic situations of their enterprises, the difficulties and problems they faced, and put forward policy suggestions.

Li Lecheng stated that the CPC Central Committee attaches great importance to the development of the PV industry. General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized the need to place greater emphasis on promoting the development of new energy and clean energy, and actively and orderly develop solar energy, silicon energy, hydrogen energy, and renewable energy. In recent years, with the active support of various departments and the joint efforts of the industry, China's PV industry has adhered to self-reliance, technological innovation, efficiency priority, and market orientation, achieving a transformation from scratch to strength and taking the lead in industrial scale, technological level, and application market, becoming a shining name card of China's manufacturing. We should comprehensively and objectively understand the development situation of the PV industry, strengthen our confidence, take multiple measures, further consolidate and enhance our advantages, and make greater contributions to building a clean and beautiful world together.

Li Lecheng emphasized the need to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on new-type industrialization, resolutely implement the decisions and arrangements of the sixth meeting of the Central Financial and Economic Affairs Commission on in-depth promotion of the construction of a unified national market, focus on key and difficult issues, comprehensively manage the low-price and disorderly competition in the PV industry in accordance with laws and regulations, guide enterprises to improve product quality, promote the orderly exit of backward capacity, and achieve healthy and sustainable development. Industry enterprises should vigorously promote the entrepreneurial spirit, anchor the correct direction, focus on technological innovation, adhere to the bottom line of quality and safety, strengthen international cooperation, further expand the depth and breadth of PV applications, accelerate the shaping of China's competitive advantages in the next generation of PV products, and strive to become technology leaders in the global PV industry and key participants in the global energy low-carbon transition. Industry associations should play the role of a bridge and link between the government and enterprises, guide enterprises to strengthen industry self-discipline, earnestly fulfill their social responsibilities, and work together to create a favorable industrial ecosystem. The MIIT will further strengthen macro guidance and industry governance, enhance standard leadership and service guarantees, continuously help enterprises solve urgent, difficult, worrying, and expected problems, and escort the high-quality development of the PV industry.

[SMM PV News] Armenia Hits 1.1 GW Solar Capacity,
Armenia’s cumulative solar capacity has surged to 1.1 GW following the addition of approximately 615 MW in 2025. This rapid expansion has pushed solar's share of electricity generation to around 15%, effectively meeting the country's 2030 target years ahead of schedule. The growth is heavily driven by a net-metering scheme supporting over 50,000 autonomous producers (totaling 650 MW), though the government ended loan subsidies for rooftop solar in July to shift focus toward battery storage.
