Shanghai (Gasgoo)- CATL recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Certification & Inspection Group ("CCIC"), further strengthening their partnership in the areas of regulatory and standards research, testing and certification, zero-carbon management, and product accreditation, according to a press release CATL issued via its WeChat account on July 2.
The collaboration aims to enhance quality and safety controls across the industry and inject new momentum into the standardized development of China's new energy vehicle sector.
As a comprehensive international quality service provider, CCIC operates a global network spanning more than 40 countries and regions. The group holds over 100 international qualifications and more than 300 national-level accreditations. CCIC 's chairman Mr. Xu Zengde noted that the organization is the only central SOE focused on a full spectrum of quality services—including inspection, testing, certification, standardization, and metrology—and will leverage its global, full-chain, and lifecycle service capabilities to support CATL in upgrading quality and advancing sustainable development, while empowering China's emerging industries to expand globally.
CATL's chairman Robin Zeng emphasized that the agreement will further improve the efficiency and depth of cooperation between the two sides. By deepening collaboration in areas such as inspection and testing, quality assessment, and data resource sharing, the partnership is set to drive high-quality growth in China's power battery and new energy vehicle industries.
