Australian miner Ioneer announced the official launch of a strategic partner recruitment process for the Rhyolite Ridge lithium-boron project in Nevada, US. Previously, South Africa's Sibanye-Stillwater withdrew in February this year due to a "weak pricing environment," with plans to invest $490 million to acquire a 50% stake.
ioneer stated that recent key work has significantly enhanced the project's value and cost expectations, and it is now seeking to sell a 40% stake to one or two investors to advance development. Located 362 kilometers north of Las Vegas, the project is one of the largest lithium-boron resources in the US, featuring dual revenue streams (75% lithium + 25% boron), and has secured all major permits and a $996 million loan from the US Department of Energy (DOE).
