[US lifts export restrictions on China imposed by three global chip design software suppliers]
On July 3 local time, Siemens stated that the US Department of Commerce had notified the three global chip design software suppliers—Synopsys, Cadence, and Siemens—that the previous requirement for them to apply for government licenses for their business operations in China had now been revoked. Siemens indicated that it had fully restored access for Chinese customers to its software and technology, while Synopsys and Cadence stated that they were gradually restarting relevant services. According to SMM, during the ban period, some packaging plants reduced their procurement of raw materials due to the stagnation of chip design, and after the lifting of the ban, they need to replenish their tin ingot inventory. Coupled with the fact that Q3 is the peak season for electronic consumption (stockpiling for Christmas and New Year), short-term demand for tin may increase significantly.
