Recently, the environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the "Jingyan County Xingyuan Scrap Lithium Battery Decomposition Project" in Leshan City, Sichuan Province, has been approved, marking a significant step forward for the project's implementation. With a total investment of 50 million yuan, the project plans to establish an annual comprehensive utilization capacity of 20,000 mt for scrap LFP batteries and nickel-cobalt-manganese (Ni-Co-Mn) acid lithium batteries. According to the plan, the project will include a lithium battery crushing production workshop, a second-life application workshop, a raw material warehouse, and a detection area. The second-life application workshop will be equipped with one PACK second-life application production line. The detection area will be equipped with industrial vacuum cleaners, battery pack scanning guns, and other equipment to pre-process the purchased scrap battery packs. The lithium battery crushing production workshop will be equipped with three lithium battery recycling and cracking production lines. One discharge area will be newly built, with two discharge water tanks installed. New environmental protection facilities, such as waste gas treatment facilities, initial rainwater collection ponds, initial rainwater temporary storage ponds, hazardous waste temporary storage rooms, and general solid waste temporary storage rooms, will be constructed. The project will rely on and complement the construction of storage and transportation facilities, as well as public and auxiliary engineering.
