The Peruvian mines operated by MMG and Hudbay Minerals are currently facing road blockades by artisanal miners (informal miners), disrupting logistics and transportation at the sites. The shipments of copper concentrate from MMG's Las Bambas (with an estimated annual copper production of 380,000 metric tons of metal in 2025) and Hudbay's Constancia (estimated annual output of 80,000–97,000 metric tons of copper in 2025) have been suspended.
