US rare earth refiner ReElement Technologies has expanded its capacity to supply high-purity separated rare earth elements for domestic defense and advanced manufacturing industries. The company has begun trials with defense and commercial partners for 99.99% rare earth oxides. ReElement currently operates from its facility in Noblesville, Indiana, with plans to transition large-scale production to a 400,000-square-foot facility in Marion, Indiana, in early 2026. The Noblesville facility is expanding its production capacity to produce 200 mt per year of separated and purified critical minerals with purities ranging from 99.5% to 99.999%. The Marion facility is collaborating with financing partners and customers, aiming for an initial capacity of 4,400 mt per year, with expansion based on raw material availability and market demand. The focus is on producing high-purity products including yttrium, gadolinium, samarium, and terbium, with all products priced based on indexed pricing to maintain competitiveness with Asian rivals.
