Energy Fuels, a US company, has obtained the final major regulatory approval from the Victoria state government, allowing it to construct and operate the Donald rare earth and mineral sands project in the state. This approval paves the way for a final investment decision later this year. The work plan for the joint venture between Energy Fuels and Australia's Astron has also been approved. According to the plan, rare earth concentrates from the Donald project will be imported to the US for processing at the White Mesa facility in Utah. It is expected that the facility will produce separated rare earth oxides, such as neodymium-praseodymium, terbium, dysprosium, and samarium, with plans to increase capacity in a Phase II expansion.
