SMM News on July 1: In June, Pr-Nd oxide production saw a slight MoM increase, with this growth trend particularly pronounced in Jiangxi and Shandong provinces. It is noteworthy that the rise in Pr-Nd oxide production was not solely dependent on the production from raw ore separation but was more significantly attributed to a notable increase in output from scrap recycling. Due to the favorable price trend in the scrap market this month, suppliers' willingness to sell increased significantly. This positive market atmosphere also drove up the recycling volume of scrap recycling enterprises, showing a corresponding growth trend.
However, in terms of raw ore production, due to strengthened environmental protection inspections in a certain region, the production activities of local separation plants were affected to a certain extent. Although this impact was not severe, it still led to a slight decrease in the output of Pr-Nd oxide raw materials. Fortunately, due to the robust growth in scrap recycling, from an overall perspective, the total output of Pr-Nd oxide in June still achieved a good result of a 2.6% MoM increase.
From the perspective of metal production, Pr-Nd alloy production also showed a MoM upward trend in June. However, upon in-depth analysis, it was found that this growth was mainly due to significant increases in orders received by individual top-tier enterprises, which in turn drove expansion activities. In other words, this growth was not a widespread phenomenon within the industry but was driven by the outstanding performance of specific enterprises.
