According to foreign media reports, Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade of Morocco, revealed that Morocco plans to increase electric vehicle production by 53% to 107,000 units by the end of 2025. This production increase plan is a key measure for Morocco to implement the export market diversification strategy and reduce dependence on the European market.
As Morocco's largest export industry, the country's automotive industry currently has an annual production capacity of 700,000 vehicles and plans to increase the capacity to 1 million vehicles by the end of this year. Although the EU remains the main destination for Morocco's automobile exports, recent data shows that the demand in the EU new car market is showing signs of weakness.
