The government of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has officially and permanently halted mining activities under four mining business licenses in Raja Ampat (Four Kings Islands), Southwest Papua. This policy was directly announced by Minister of the State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi on Tuesday. In accordance with President Prabowo's instructions, the government has decided to revoke the mining business licenses of four companies in the Regency of Raja Ampat. Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia stated that, under President Prabowo's instructions and appointment, his party immediately suspended production operations under the mining business licenses. Among the five active mining business licenses, only one, GAG Nickel Ltd., had an active annual work plan.
