On June 29, Tesla officially announced on social media that its first LFP battery factory in Nevada, US, is expected to be completed and commence production soon. The factory is located in Sparks, Nevada, adjacent to Tesla's existing Gigafactory. As early as February 2024, foreign media reported that Tesla was expanding its battery factory in Sparks, Nevada, to introduce a cheaper LFP battery (LFP) supply chain into the US. The factory is expected to have an initial capacity of 10 Gwh, primarily serving the energy storage business and some car models. The equipment will be provided by CATL, and Tesla will have full control over the factory's operations.
