Hubei Magnesium Era Launches Trial Production of 1,600 mt Intelligent Die-Casting System

Published: Jun 26, 2025 21:23
[SMM Magnesium News] Hubei Magnesium Era New Material Co., Ltd. officially launched the trial production of its first 1,600 mt intelligent die-casting system. This state-owned enterprise, established just 10 months ago, has accelerated capacity release through breakthroughs in key technologies, injecting strong development momentum into the regional automotive lightweighting industry chain. Recently, in the production workshop of Hubei Magnesium Era New Material Co., Ltd., die-casting equipment worth over 10 million yuan has been operating at full capacity. Under the 1,600 mt high-pressure precision casting process, magnesium alloy melt is precisely manipulated by intelligent robotic arms to complete the forming process. Amidst the splashing metal sparks, the outline of new energy vehicle wheels gradually becomes clear. Zhang Tieqiang, Chief Technical Engineer of Hubei Magnesium Era New Material Co., Ltd., introduced that the company's current equipment includes 630 mt, 800 mt, and 1,600 mt die-casting machines, and it plans to purchase a 4,000 mt large-scale machine in September. Currently, the company's main products include automotive parts, 3C products, aviation products, and trial-produced bracket-type automotive wheel hubs. The core of technological breakthroughs stems from the innovation of material properties. The company's large-scale die-casting equipment cluster provides process guarantees for fully leveraging the material characteristics of magnesium alloy, such a

Silicon Metal Market Review for January and Outlook for February
In January, the silicon metal market experienced a relatively loose supply-demand balance, with a theoretical inventory buildup of approximately 30,000 mt. In February, both supply and demand contracted simultaneously, and the market is expected to show a tight balance or minor destocking. The current high industry inventory still requires time to be digested, and the sustainability of destocking remains a key variable affecting price trends and market sentiment.

A plant in northern China is calling for bids for indium ingots and bismuth ingots
SMM, February 6 - According to SMM’s investigation of market information, a large smelter in northern China began public bidding for a certain quantity of indium ingots and bismuth ingots starting yesterday. Market sources indicate that the starting price for these indium ingots exceeds 4,000 yuan per kilogram, while the starting price for bismuth ingots is above 150,000 yuan per ton. The bidding results are expected to be announced before the Spring Festival. Market participants note that, given the clear trend of sluggish trading activity ahead of the Spring Festival, the timing of this bidding is not ideal. However, the relatively favorable starting prices have generated considerable market anticipation for the outcome of the bidding.
