Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In June 2025, Desay SV officially launched the second phase of its distributed photovoltaic (PV) project, further advancing its commitment to sustainable energy, according to a post on the company's WeChat account.

The new installation utilizes rooftop space at the company's Phase II intelligent manufacturing facility and adds 2.4 megawatts (MW) of solar capacity. Combined with existing infrastructure, Desay SV has now installed a total of 4.9MW of distributed PV, expected to generate over 4.5 million kWh of renewable electricity annually and reduce carbon emissions by approximately 2,400 tonnes. This milestone significantly boosts the company's renewable energy supply and reinforces sustainability across its campus operations.

Recognizing that energy systems are critical to long-term sustainability, Desay SV began its transition in 2021 from a traditional "energy consumer" to an "energy prosumer"—both producing and consuming its own energy.

The company has since implemented a series of initiatives, including solar installations and integrated source-grid-load-energy storage frameworks. Supporting infrastructure such as a 6.7MWh energy storage station now stores over 2 million kWh of electricity per year, supplying power for on-site offices, EV charging stations, and other public facilities. In the area of gas utilities, Desay SV has also built its own compressed air and nitrogen production stations, reducing carbon emissions associated with outsourced energy supply and transportation.

These efforts go beyond supplementing the company's energy needs—they are central to achieving Desay SV's long-term carbon neutrality goals. Looking ahead, the company aims to reach 100% green electricity usage by 2030 and achieve value chain carbon neutrality by 2050. To that end, Desay SV will continue to increase the share of renewable energy in its mix, reform its energy structure, and optimize operational strategies to build a greener, more stable, and more efficient energy system. The company remains committed to its corporate responsibility in energy conservation and emissions reduction, contributing meaningfully to global sustainable development.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
