Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On June 26, SAIC-GM, Bosch, and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. announced a strategic collaboration to deliver AI-powered cockpit experiences in next-generation vehicles.

Bosch said it had successfully delivered prototype units of a next-generation smart cockpit domain controller based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon Ride™ Flex SoC (QAM8775P), developed for SAIC-GM's Buick Xiaoyao architecture. This platform is expected to debut globally in mass production in the second half of 2025, launching with the first sedan under Buick's premium electric sub-brand, ELECTRA (named "Zhi Jing" in Chinese), and offering users a significantly enhanced, seamless digital in-car experience.

According to Bosch, its new-generation smart cockpit platform leverages the formidable computing power of the Qualcomm QAM8775P chip, supporting flexible allocation of processing resources across four key application scenarios: advanced driver assistance-focused, balanced cockpit-ADAS, cockpit-intensive, and time-sharing modes.

In cockpit-intensive configurations, the platform delivers 230K DMIPS of CPU performance, 72 TOPS of neural processing, and 1.3 TFLOPS of graphics rendering—redefining the interactive boundaries of the smart cockpit and enabling an immersive driving experience.

Immersive audiovisual interaction is made possible with ultra-HD rendering that delivers lossless image output across instrument clusters, center displays, and entertainment screens. Combined with a fully 3D human-machine interface (HMI) engine, the system allows real-time rendering of vehicle controls—such as 3D car operations and window adjustments—as well as high-definition navigation maps, creating an intuitive "what you see is what you get" experience via voice or touch input.

AI-enhanced user personalization integrates on-device large language models and cloud collaboration to enable millisecond-level voice command responses and multi-turn conversation understanding. Coupled with driver behavior perception algorithms, the system offers intelligent scene-based recommendations—automatically adjusting seats, fragrance, music, and even monitoring passenger wellness.

As a core technology partner, Bosch has already shipped over 2.5 million domain controllers powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon® cockpit platform. Looking ahead, Bosch plans to develop even more powerful AI-driven smart cockpit solutions based on Qualcomm's fifth-generation Snapdragon platform, further expanding its product portfolio and deepening its capabilities in intelligent vehicle technology.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
