Affected by tariffs, the UK's automotive exports to the US fell sharply by 55.4% YoY in May. On March 26 local time, US President Trump signed an executive order at the White House, announcing a 25% tariff on all imported cars, which took effect on April 2. On May 8, the US and the UK announced a new trade agreement. Recently, the trade statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance showed that, affected by the US's tariff policies on cars, steel, and aluminum, Japan's export value to the US fell by 11.1% YoY in May.
