On June 24, BYD Auto signed a cooperation agreement with the European steel manufacturer voestalpine Group in Vienna, Austria. Voestalpine will supply steel to BYD's passenger car factory in Hungary. BYD's Executive Vice President Li Ke and voestalpine's CEO Herbert Eibensteiner jointly attended the signing ceremony. The agreement includes the supply of steel sheets and plates, with voestalpine becoming one of the first supply partners for BYD's Seged factory in Hungary. Li Ke stated that BYD hopes that within the next five years, local consumers will regard BYD as a European manufacturer, and the Hungarian factory is at the core of this strategy.
