[Tesla Signs Contract for Its First Grid-Side ESS Power Station Project in Mainland China] On June 20, the Administrative Committee of Lingang New Area in Shanghai, the People's Government of Fengxian District in Shanghai, China Kangfu International Leasing Co., Ltd., and Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. held a signing ceremony for the project of constructing an international cooperation demonstration center for grid-forming zero-carbon energy. Kang'ao Energy, a subsidiary of China Kangfu, will serve as the implementing entity for this project. It will invest a total of 4 billion yuan in Lingang New Area to build a demonstration project of a gigawatt-hour-level standalone grid-side ESS power station using Tesla's energy storage product, Megapack. In February this year, Tesla officially commenced production at its Shanghai Gigafactory for energy storage systems, its first energy storage factory outside the US. The energy storage systems, Megapack, produced at this factory have already been exported in hundreds of units to multiple countries and regions in Europe and Oceania.
