According to Reuters, on June 23, Thai Finance Minister Pichai Chunhavajira stated that to boost the sluggish auto sales market, Thailand is considering introducing a new policy that would allow owners of pickup trucks aged 20 to 25 years to receive tax incentives when trading in their vehicles for new ones. Pichai Chunhavajira revealed that consultations with relevant parties had already begun, but did not disclose specific details. Meanwhile, Pichai Chunhavajira indicated that the Thai government would take measures to provide more debt relief and stabilize domestic energy prices. He anticipated that if tensions in the Middle East did not escalate further, domestic energy prices in Thailand would remain unaffected. He also pointed out that currently, Thailand had not reported any abnormal capital flows.
