At the 2025 Global NEV Cooperation and Development (Shanghai) Forum, Leng Yan, Executive Vice President of Mercedes-Benz (China), stated that starting from 2025, Mercedes-Benz will gradually commence production of a new, China-exclusive, fully electric long-wheelbase CLA car model, as well as a new luxury fully electric MPV based on the VAN.EA platform. Among them, the new fully electric long-wheelbase CLA car model is the first mass-produced model on Mercedes-Benz's MMA platform, equipped with an 800V high-voltage system, a two-speed transmission, and achieving an energy conversion rate from battery to wheel of up to 93%, with an electricity consumption of 12kWh per 100 kilometers. To accelerate the electrification transformation of light commercial vehicles, Mercedes-Benz will produce a new fully electric MPV based on the VAN.EA platform in Fujian, further enriching its localized product lineup for both passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.
