Vedanta reported record aluminium production for the financial year ending March 31, 2025, reaching 2.42 million tonnes—a 2% increase from 2.37 million tonnes in FY2024. The company's alumina output also hit a new high of 1.98 million tonnes, marking a 9% year-on-year rise. The company attributed the growth to improved operational efficiency, asset reliability, and procurement strategies. Its Jharsuguda smelter in Odisha achieved 1.83 million tonnes of cast metal, exceeding design capacity at 105% and growing 3% YoY. The Balco subsidiary in Chhattisgarh also recorded its highest annual output at 592,000 tonnes, up 1% YoY. Vedanta also made strides in sustainability. Jharsuguda reduced its GHG emission intensity by 13.26% from FY2021 levels and procured 152MW of green power. Balco's emissions decreased to 15.93 TCO2/T, with 25MW of green power purchases and 2,365 tonnes of biomass co-fired.
