The renewed partnership ushers in a new phase of coordinated innovation and integrated development in the public transportation sector.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On June 25, 2025, GAC Group and Guangzhou Public Transport Group signed a new strategic cooperation agreement at GAC's headquarters in Panyu district, Guangzhou city, marking a significant milestone in their long-standing collaboration, according to a post on GAC Group's WeChat account. The renewed partnership ushers in a new phase of coordinated innovation and integrated development in the public transportation sector.

As the largest public transport and road transportation company in South China, Guangzhou Public Transport Group has been focusing on urban transit, taxi operations, modern logistics, smart mobility, new energy vehicle transportation, and transportation asset management. In recent years, the company has accelerated its transformation into a modern, technology-driven, and internationally oriented public transit group, delivering smarter, greener, and more convenient mobility services for residents.

GAC Group and Guangzhou Public Transport Group began their collaboration in late 2017. Over the years, the two sides have worked closely in areas such as intelligent connected buses, new mobility models, and public transit big data, underpinned by their shared values—GAC's "people first, integrity-driven, innovation-led" and the transit group's mission of "better mobility, better life." The newly signed agreement builds on this strong foundation and signals their shared confidence in expanding future cooperation.

To date, the two companies have engaged in joint initiatives across 39 critical areas, including intelligent transportation, mobility services, and the automotive industry value chain. Their cooperation has contributed to enhanced public transport service quality and operational efficiency in Guangzhou, particularly through connected bus technologies and coordinated mobility solutions. Progress has also been made in logistics operations and big data research, laying the groundwork for long-term development.

The event also featured the delivery of the first batch of 1,700 customized taxis for 2025, symbolizing a new chapter in the partnership.

Looking ahead, both parties pledged to uphold the principles of equality, voluntary participation, legal compliance, mutual benefit, and priority cooperation. Together, they will continue expanding the scope and depth of their collaboration to co-create a more comprehensive and future-ready public transport ecosystem.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
