According to multiple foreign media outlets, including NEUTRALNEWS, Pertamina New and Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE), a subsidiary of Indonesia's state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina, and LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. have officially launched a strategic project to build a solar panel manufacturing facility in Indonesia.
This initiative supports the Indonesian government's commitment to fulfilling the domestic content level (TKDN) and aims to meet the growing demand for solar PV modules in Indonesia and across Southeast Asia.
It is reported that the targeted annual capacity of the solar panel factory is 1.4 gigawatts, and it will adopt the latest PV technology from LONGi, a global leader in solar panel manufacturing. The facility will utilize Hybrid Passivated Back Contact (HPBC) 2.0 N-type technology, enabling the production of high-efficiency solar modules.
According to data from Indonesia's Ministry of Industry, the current annual solar panel production capacity in Indonesia is 1.6 gigawatts. With the implementation of this project, the national capacity will increase to 3 gigawatts, directly supporting the government's long-term goal of achieving 300-400 gigawatts of solar power generation by 2060.
