It marks ECARX's official entry into the rapidly expanding field of embodied intelligence.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Global mobility tech company ECARX announced on June 25 a strategic breakthrough beyond the automotive sector, reaching a cooperation agreement with a leading global tech firm to supply its cutting-edge solid-state 3D LiDAR for intelligent lawn-mowing robots. Mass production is set to begin in 2026, marking ECARX's official entry into the rapidly expanding field of embodied intelligence.

Embodied intelligence—an emerging frontier at the intersection of AI and robotics—emphasizes dynamic interaction between intelligent agents and their physical environments. It integrates perception, action, and cognition, enabling systems to autonomously learn and evolve. With accelerating global investment, the field is transitioning from proof-of-concept to real-world application, establishing a pathway toward scalable commercialization.

Perception technology lies at the heart of embodied intelligence. LiDAR sensors, essential for precise environmental awareness, are critical for enabling autonomous navigation, object manipulation, and human-machine collaboration.

ECARX said it self-developed short-range solid-state LiDAR features a 905nm wavelength and adopts a fully solid-state (Flash) architecture, eliminating mechanical components for improved structural stability. The emitter uses a custom-designed large-array VCSEL light source with a detection range of up to 60 meters, while the receiver incorporates a high-resolution SPAD sensor for sharp, accurate imaging. These specifications enable ultra-dense 3D mapping and advanced obstacle avoidance, significantly enhancing robotic perception and navigation.

Looking ahead, ECARX plans to intensify R&D efforts to further elevate the performance and reliability of its LiDAR solutions, expanding their use across intelligent vehicles, robotics, and other high-tech domains.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
