SMM News on June 25: According to market feedback obtained by SMM, it is rumored that Guizhou Huajin Aluminum Industry Co., Ltd. held a public auction yesterday to sell gallium metal with a quality standard of Ga4N that complies with the national standard GB/T 1475-2022. The final transaction price was around 1,700 yuan/kg. The actual transaction volume is unknown, but unofficial sources claim it was in the hundreds of kilograms.

Market participants stated that the quality of Guizhou Huajin Aluminum Industry Co., Ltd.'s gallium products is stable and currently enjoys a good reputation in the market. Downstream acceptance of the company's gallium products is also high. However, with the tender transaction price at around 1,700 yuan/kg, overall, the price is relatively weak, indicating insufficient demand and buying interest for gallium in both the end-use market and the speculative market at present. The actual transaction volume further supports this view. Coincidentally, today, Sanmenxia Aluminum Industry's 4N gallium is also undergoing a tender process. It is unknown whether it has been influenced by the tender results of Guizhou Huajin Aluminum Industry Co., Ltd. The base price, or starting bid, for Sanmenxia Aluminum Industry's 4N gallium tender is only 1,650 yuan/kg. The market is also waiting for the tender results of Sanmenxia Aluminum Industry. SMM will also provide follow-up reports.

[SMM Analysis]Global Tungsten Stays Hot Over Chinese New Year: Europe Tight, India Scrap Gains
Tungsten prices kept rising through the Chinese New Year. Europe saw higher quotes but few spot deals, with APT at $1,650+/mtu and ferro-tungsten hitting $205/kg. India’s scrap market stayed strong, with drill bits at $110/kg. In China, tight supply pushed APT long-term prices up by ¥200,000 to ¥1 million/t. Shortages persist, pointing to more post-holiday gains.

U.S. Considers Financing Major Tungsten Project in Kazakhstan to Diversify Mineral Supply Chains
[SMM Tungsten Express] The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation is considering financing the Severniy Katpar tungsten project in Kazakhstan. One of the world's largest undeveloped tungsten deposits, it holds over 10% of global reserves and is a JV between Cove Kaz Capital and Kazakh state miner Tau-Ken Samruk. U.S. officials called it a landmark investment in Kazakhstan's mining sector, aiming to diversify critical mineral supply chains and implement the U.S.-Kazakhstan critical minerals MOU signed in November 2025.
